Founded in 1975, Bioiberica has been a pioneer in the research and production of biomolecules of natural origin, making progress in fields as diverse as medicine, nutrition and agriculture. One of its major milestones is the production of heparin, an active ingredient that contributes to saving more than 100 million lives a year by preventing and treating thrombosis. But its impact is not limited to hospital medicine: other developments, such as glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate, form part of supplements that help keep joints strong and flexible, the key to active, pain-free longevity.

The company has made innovation its driving force, with more than 40 ongoing R&D projects and collaborations in more than 30 research centres around the world. These advances seek not only new molecules and active ingredients, but also formulas that enhance our everyday well-being, from skin care to the vitality of our pets to the resilience of the crops that sustain our food.

All of this is developed under a unique circular economy model that guarantees maximum quality and safety at every stage, from the biological origin of the raw materials to the final product. The 50th anniversary was also a time to celebrate the human behind the science. At its Palafolls headquarters, Bioiberica organised a Family Day for employees and families, an open day with tours of the facilities, activities and a shared meal that reinforced the sense of community. With this new phase, the company is also launching a revamped website that projects its identity to the outside world with greater clarity and transparency.
