Madrid is about to take a historic leap forward in its understanding of leisure, sport and wellbeing. The ambitious project Sport City, promoted by Club Atlético de Madrid in collaboration with the City Council of the capital, will completely transform the northeast of the city into an international epicentre for active living, entertainment and health.

In this large urban development, valued at 800 million, one of the key pieces will be the entry of Go Fit, the renowned chain of sports centres, which will manage the large fitness area of the complex. A firm commitment to integrate physical activity, wellbeing and community at the heart of one of Europe's most ambitious projects.

A new model of an active city

The future Sport City will be built on a municipal land plot of 115 hectares, next to the stadium Civitas Metropolitan, The aim is clear: to create an environment where professional sport, leisure, education, music and wellbeing coexist in a harmonious and accessible way for citizens. The objective is clear: to create an environment where professional sport, leisure, education, music and wellbeing coexist in a harmonious and accessible way for citizens.

Atlético will allocate 200 million to this development, while the 600 million remaining will come from private investment, backed by US fund Apollo Global Management. The result will be an urban ecosystem designed to enjoy, move, learn and take care of oneself.

Go Fit: fitness, health and conscious habits

The presence of Go Fit consolidates the wellness of the project. Your centre will not just be an ordinary gymnasium, but a integral health space, aimed at training, prevention, longevity and physical and mental wellbeing. A proposal aligned with the new self-care trends, where exercise is conceived as an essential tool for quality of life.

The announcement also comes at a time of full international expansion for the brand, which has recently opened its new first club in Italy, reinforcing its position as a European benchmark for healthy fitness.

Sport, leisure and immersive experiences

Sport City goes far beyond classic training. Among the operators participating in the complex are international leaders in active leisure:

  • Playtomic, which will operate a modern indoor paddle tennis centre with 24 indoor courts.
  • Topgolf together with Callaway, responsible for the experiential golf area.
  • Wavegarden, which will develop a artificial surf lagoon, bringing the sport to thousands of urban fans.

In addition to all this, there will be a powerful cultural and entertainment offer, with concerts and major events managed by Live Nation Entertainment y Oak View Group.

The project also includes a large commercial area, which will be managed by López Real Inversiones 21, and a university campus developed by the Alfonso X El Sabio University, integrating training, innovation and sport in the same environment.

A calendar that looks to the future

The first three plots of this macro-complex will be completed between August and September 2026. Full commissioning is planned for 2028, coinciding with the completion of the large concert venue and the university campus. From then on, Madrid will have one of the most complete sports, entertainment and wellness complexes in Europe.

Well-being as a driver of urban transformation

Sport City is not only an economic or sporting investment: it is an investment in the declaration of intent on the future city model. A space where moving, training, learning, enjoying music, practising new sports and taking care of your health are all part of the same experience.

The arrival of Go Fit reinforces this vision from a perspective clearly aligned with wellness: physical activity as a daily habit, longevity, prevention, and community. One more step towards a Madrid that is not only growing, but also evolving towards a more conscious, active and healthy lifestyle.
