From 12 to 14 February In 2026, Malaga will once again be at the centre of the wellness and aesthetic health map with the celebration of the 41st Congress of the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine (SEME), This is an essential event that transcends the purely medical aspect to consolidate itself as one of the major international meetings dedicated to the integral care of the person.
With more than 4,000 doctors attending each year, this congress has become one of the largest medical events in Spain, generating moreover economic impact of more than 2.8 million euros in the city. For three days, Malaga becomes the capital of Aesthetic Medicine Spanish, welcoming national and international professionals who share a common vision: to promote aesthetics based on science, safety and the overall well-being of the patient.
The Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA), the usual venue for the event, has established itself as the ideal setting for an event of this size. In the last edition, more than a hundred companies from the sector participated in an exhibition area with more than 300 stands, reflecting the dynamism of a discipline in constant evolution. A space where innovation, technology and applied science dialogue at the service of an increasingly precise, personalised and respectful aesthetic medicine.
Science, innovation and experiential learning
The congress kicks off on Thursday 12 February with the pre-congress courses, which sell out year after year. Trichoscopy, ultrasound applied to aesthetic medicine, anaesthesia and resuscitation and artificial intelligence applied to clinical practice are some of the most popular courses, designed to provide professionals with advanced tools that improve both patient outcomes and safety.
Over the three days, the programme combines symposia and workshops with a solid independent scientific content: 19 sessions and 4 non-sponsored monographic symposia, which guarantee the impartiality, rigour and quality of the content, and allow attendees to obtain official continuing education credits.
One of the most highly valued areas of the congress is The clinic on the move, a practical training proposal in which demonstrations are carried out on real patients. In this environment, doctors share protocols, innovative techniques and clinical approaches aimed at optimising results, minimising risks and reinforcing the safety of the medical act, a fundamental pillar of contemporary medical wellness.
A deeper insight into anatomy and security
The 41st edition of the congress incorporates a novelty of great educational value: for the first time, a cadaveric dissection by planes will be carried out, broadcast live from the Forensic Anatomical Institute of Antequera. This dissection will include simultaneous injection in the areas considered to be the safest, with subsequent ultrasound monitoring to confirm the correct location of the anatomical planes.
This approach will allow practitioners to gain a much more realistic and accurate understanding of injection techniques, leading to more accurate, safe and effective treatments, and reducing the risk of complications.
As the Dr. Juan Antonio López Pitalúa, According to the president of SEME, Aesthetic Medicine has achieved high recognition within the healthcare field in recent years thanks to its scientific rigour and the growing evidence published. Today, the aesthetic doctor forms part of multidisciplinary teams alongside dermatologists, plastic surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, gynaecologists and ear specialists, contributing to an integrated vision of wellbeing, health and quality of life.
An appointment that confirms that modern aesthetic medicine is no longer limited to image, but is fully integrated into the concept of wellness: science, prevention, safety and conscious care of body and mind.
