SHA launches "Hair Health", its new clinical unit for hair and skin health care, in collaboration with Grupo Pedro Jaén, a leading medical centre in trichology, dermatology and related specialities.
Hair and skin alterations have become a major concern in modern society due to their high impact on people's identity and self-esteem. From March 2025, these aspects will be optimised and personalised through the SHA Method, in collaboration with Grupo Pedro Jaén.
"The new SHA units complete the broad spectrum of health and wellness covered by the SHA Method by focusing on skin and hair health, which are at the heart of aesthetic concerns, wellbeing and self-esteem in modern societies. Pedro Jaén Group, to whom we entrust the development of this medical service, is backed by more than three decades of experience and its professionals are among the most prestigious in the world" declares Alejandro Bataller, co-founder and vice-president SHA & AB Living Group.
This new unit, led by Dr. Ángel Aguado, dermatologist at the Trichology and Hair Transplant Unit of the Pedro Jaén Group, who will have a consultation at SHA Spain, starts with an evaluation and diagnosis aimed at assessing the condition of the hair and scalp using a digital trichoscope to detect possible hair pathologies or disorders.
"Currently, this technology is essential in our speciality, as it offers us a detailed view of the scalp and hair at a microscopic level, facilitating the identification of anomalies that cannot be seen by a simple visual inspection. We analyse the scalp and hair shafts at the same time in a quick, non-invasive, painless and discomfort-free way," explains Dr. Aguado.
Images captured with the digital trichoscope are analysed for signs of hair miniaturisation, variations in the thickness or shape of hair shafts and other diagnostic factors for alopecia, as well as inflammation, scaling or other relevant signs that may be affecting the health and appearance of the hair or scalp.
Dr. Sergio Vañó, director of the Trichology and Hair Transplant Unit of the Pedro Jaén Group and supervisor of the "Hair Health" Unit, explains the importance of carrying out this early diagnosis as "people are not resigned and are increasingly consulting for problems related to their hair. Fortunately, we now have very effective treatments that, when applied early, can stop alopecia and reverse most hair problems. Before we only had transplantation and not everyone is a candidate for that option.
"Our professional efforts have always been focused on the pursuit of the health of our patients' skin and hair through our healthcare, teaching and research activities. We have always sought to
excellence in the treatments, technology and treatment we provide to those who come to our centres and we are very happy to begin a stage of collaboration with SHA with whom we share values and objectives aimed at improving people's health," says Dr. Pedro Jaén, founder of the Pedro Jaén Group.

SHA guests will be able to start the recommended treatment plan during their stay, whether it is oral medication, mesotherapy or low power laser and will have access to innovative procedures such as Tricopat (a device that applies medication by iontophoresis, avoiding the patient discomfort and punctures in the scalp) or Hydrafacial capillary, a premium treatment of exfoliation and nutrition of the scalp that completely frees it from residues and provides a healthy environment for the hair follicle; ideal for enhancing the effect of medical treatments or simply to promote the growth of healthier, more beautiful hair.
The unique new "Hair Health" unit will not only focus on hair care. It will also cover other areas of dermatology, focusing on the prevention of common skin conditions, early detection of cancer, and advice on healthy lifestyle habits to reduce the impact of stress and poor sleep quality on various dermatological diseases.
