Tandem Health arrives in Spain to revolutionise healthcare wellness through artificial intelligence

Published on

At a time when pressure on health resources continues to grow, Tandem Health lands in Spain with a transformational proposal: its clinical co-pilotan artificial intelligence (AI)-based medical assistant designed to free professionals from bureaucratic tasks and give them back the time to focus on what's really important: patient care.

This technological breakthrough, which has already proven its effectiveness in markets such as the Nordic market - where it works closely with Capio, the region's largest healthcare provider - is also beginning to change the dynamics of private healthcare in Spain. Large hospital groups, polyclinic networks and independent practices are already relying on this innovative tool to improve their efficiency.

In a context where more than 70% of doctors in Spain recognise that they would be willing to use AI to alleviate the administrative burden, according to Mutual Médica data, the launch of the clinical co-pilot takes on extraordinary relevance. Not only does it alleviate the saturation of the system, but it also helps to combat burnout, one of the main causes of job dissatisfaction in the medical field.

A strategic push backed by major investors

After closing a $9.5m funding round in 2024 - led by Northzone and backed by investors from OpenAI, DeepMind and Amino Collective - Tandem Health has begun its commercial expansion in Spain. Its medical assistant, already operational in more than 300 European healthcare organisations and available in 50 languages, promises to radically transform the interaction between doctors and patients.

Currently, the clinical co-pilot is already used in primary, secondary and home care, in both the public and private sectors in Spain. With a team of almost fifty professionals and a strategic core in our country, Tandem is consolidating its commitment to becoming a major player in the digitisation of healthcare.

A quiet revolution in doctors' surgeries

The impact of Tandem Health's solution is tangible: in the first deployments, 69% of user physicians experienced a 40% reduction in time spent on administrative tasks - about two hours per day freed up - leading to an increase in the number of consultations and improved quality of care. In addition, 73% of users stated that the tool has improved their working environment.

Thanks to seamless integration with leading medical record management systems, the co-pilot records every detail of the consultation accurately and automatically, minimising errors and omissions and improving patient safety.

Humanising digital health: a shared goal

"Artificial intelligence should be an ally for doctors, not a substitute. Our clinical co-pilot is designed to give them back their time and allow them to focus on delivering quality medical care," says Jorge Pérez Hermilla, Country Manager of Tandem Health in Spain.

With healthcare systems under increasing pressure, technologies such as Tandem Health offer a concrete way to improve the well-being of healthcare professionals, reduce staff shortages and provide patients with more humane, personalised and safer care.
