THE FLAG Costa del Sol, located between Estepona and Marbella, represents one of the clearest evolutions in contemporary luxury: turning the hotel stay into a holistic health experience. Its new model combines relaxation, sensory wellness and advanced medical-preventive protocols, aimed at both international guests and residents seeking to optimise energy, performance and longevity in a privileged Mediterranean setting.
The official presentation of this new Wellness Clinic, held last week, brought together professionals from the sector, lifestyle prescribers and representatives from the medical field in an experiential day that provided first-hand knowledge of the real dimension of the project. The meeting was completed with a healthy brunch prepared by the hotel's chef, with healthy gastronomy proposals designed in coherence with the centre's philosophy: functional nutrition, local produce, metabolic balance and conscious pleasure as an active part of wellbeing.

During the conference, it became clear that THE FLAG Costa del Sol spa goes beyond the traditional concept. Its offer integrates applied health technologies and state-of-the-art treatments such as 360° check-up, BOA pressure therapy for drainage and recovery, IHHT metabolic oxygenation protocols, local cold application, red light therapies and cryotherapy cabins.. In addition, there are therapeutic and relaxing massages, sauna, Turkish bath, recovery areas, beauty treatments with vegan cosmetics, heated swimming pool, yoga and Pilates areas and a Longevity Lounge designed for monitoring and regenerating the body.
One of the differential pillars of the project is its integration with real preventive medicine. The Dr. Francisco Martínez Peñalver, Dr. M. M. M. M. M., a leading expert in longevity programmes, metabolic optimisation and ageing management, gave a talk on the subject, as well as Dr. Anna Ledermann who will be the centre's dermatology referral. Thanks to this incorporation, the wellness experience transcends the aesthetic level to become a personalised health programme based on diagnosis, prevention and professional monitoring.

The proposal is thus articulated in two main levels of value for the user. On the one hand, the sensory experience of the spa: massages, heat circuits, muscle recovery, deep relaxation and advanced aesthetic treatments. On the other, medical protocols aimed at prevention and optimisation: comprehensive check-ups, metabolic rebalancing, light therapies, cryotherapy, IHHT, pressotherapy and individualised nutritional advice. This dual approach allows for both short breaks and intensive health and longevity programmes.
The project also has a strong leadership. At the head of THE FLAG Costa del Sol is its director, Mónica Gimeno, whose management has been the key to the coherent integration of the hotel dimension, the high-level spa and the new clinical-preventive aspect. Together with this, the direct involvement of the owner's family, the Muhr family - represented by Sabine Muhr, Dr. Rudolf Muhr and Dr. Eike Muhr- reinforces the strategic and international vision of the model.
During the presentation ceremony, the family also announced one of the group's most ambitious projects: the upcoming launch of Well Frankfurt, a space to be developed in Germany that will act as a bridge to attract European travellers interested in health, wellness and preventive medicine stays on the Costa del Sol. This international connection consolidates THE FLAG within a health tourism network with a European vocation.

In his speech, Dr. Muhr highlighted the value of the team and local partners as the basis of the project:
"We want to consolidate here a reference model that can grow to other parts of the Mediterranean, without losing our local identity and the continuous support of our family and our team.".
He also underlined the hybrid character of the chain-driven concept:
"The basis of this model combines hotel, wellness and future medical support with the aim of offering something truly valuable to our customers.".
From a lifestyle approach, THE FLAG Costa del Sol is committed to the idea of “holidays that improve health”, where treatment, rest, nutrition and environment form a coherent whole. The healthy gastronomic offer, presented during the inaugural brunch, completes this vision of continuous wellness, in which what you eat, what you receive in the cabin and how you rest respond to the same philosophy.

For profiles such as managers, wellness travellers, athletes or international residents, the promise is clear: not only to relax, but also to activate a real and measurable improvement in physical, metabolic and energetic condition. The possibility of accessing tailor-made programmes with advanced assessment, regenerative therapies and medical accompaniment puts this project in a new category within health tourism.
In short, THE FLAG Costa del Sol consolidates a new generation model: hotel + spa + preventive clinic, with professional leadership, medical support and an international projection reinforced by the future connection with Well Frankfurt. A concept that positions the Costa del Sol as a benchmark European destination for conscious luxury, where the real privilege is to invest in health today in order to live better tomorrow.
