Dr. Adeel Khan: «Eterna Health's protocols set the forefront in regenerative medicine»

Healthcare is experiencing a global paradigm shift, moving away from reactive medicine and into biological optimization and longevity. At the forefront of this movement is Eterna Health, a network of clinics that challenges the limits of regenerative medicine.

In today's interview we speak with its founder, Dr. Adeel Khan, about the cutting-edge science they apply, global regulatory restrictions, and how mental state defines our true biological age.

Q: What truly sets Eterna Health apart from other longevity clinics premium worldwide?

Dr. Adeel Khan: The vast majority of current longevity clinics try to address the root cause of problems, a concept the public is already beginning to understand thanks to functional medicine and systems biology. It is understood that a problem in the stomach, for example, is not isolated; it can be deeply interconnected with mitochondrial dysfunction or chronic inflammation.

Our key difference lies in how we measure that interconnection. We are the first clinic to implement proteomics. While other clinics are just beginning to consider it, we already use it to gain a much deeper insight into the patient's biology, identify exactly where cellular processes fail, and measure biological age with extreme precision. This allows us to accurately evaluate the before and after of each intervention. Additionally, we are one of the few clinics that actually publishes scientific research —such as case reports— demonstrating how our cellular infusions can reverse biological age. We are leading the technological leap from epigenetic clocks to proteomic clocks.

Q: What are your signature treatments and do these vary by location due to regional regulations?

Dr. Khan: Yes, treatments vary substantially by country. For example, I am from Canada, and there we are quite limited in what we can do at a general clinical level, restricting ourselves more to the research field. In contrast, our clinics in Mexico, Dubai and the one we are opening in Florida can offer much more advanced catalogs.

Our signature treatment relies on the new epigenetic and proteomic clocks, but the real value is not just the treatment itself, but the preparation protocol. As I always say: we must prepare the soil before planting the seeds. We ensure the body is optimized through high-precision imaging guidance for injections.

If a patient has chronic inflammation or infection, we design a three to six month prior protocol to heal the body. If they are already a healthy person purely seeking longevity, we apply a protocol of a couple of weeks with peptides to optimize mitochondria, methylene blue, and senolytics to eliminate senescent cells («zombie cells») before performing advanced therapies.

Q: Beyond the high-profile celebrities who have popularized these treatments on social media, how would you define the profile of your typical patient and how often do they visit?

Dr. Khan: There is a myth that these treatments are inaccessible and only for celebrities, which I consider counterproductive. In reality, most of our patients are highly informed individuals. They are people who read a lot, who already master a healthy lifestyle —they know about nutrition, train well, manage their stress and sleep— and who likely already consume supplements or peptides. They come to us seeking the next level: advanced longevity.

Although we treat people from ages 20 to 90, the core of our patients falls between 40 and 70 years old. Many come to Eterna as their «last resort» after having tried everything elsewhere without success; others are loyal followers who fully trust our scientific rigor. Regarding frequency, those who come for a specific problem (like chronic leg pain) sometimes recover with a single intervention and do not need to return. However, patients focused on comprehensive longevity usually visit us once or twice a year, since aging is, by nature, a continuous process.

Q: Do you operate primarily through personalized à la carte services or through structured luxury memberships?

Dr. Khan: We offer both options. We have patients who undergo one-off interventions, but for those focused on real longevity, we have annual or lifetime membership models.

Under this membership model, the patient has an elite medical team that includes renowned clinical geneticists, such as Dr. Andrew Shuin (MD, PhD) and Dr. Mansour. They design what we call «full year care,» continuous and personalized follow-up dedicated exclusively to health optimization. The real value of longevity is not an isolated injection; it is the accompaniment and medical monitoring for at least one year.

Q: In general terms, what is the average expense of a patient for a comprehensive regenerative protocol?

Dr. Khan: The range is very wide due to personalization. A simple medical intervention, such as a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection, can be around $1,000 USD.

In contrast, if we talk about what generates the most interest in the longevity sector —a complete stem cell infusion aimed at reversing biological age—, costs usually start at $15,000 USD and, depending on the complexity and scope of the protocol, can range between $40,000 and $50,000 USD. It is a high investment, but we estimate that as economies of scale are generated and innovation occurs in biological manufacturing processes, costs will gradually decrease over time.

Q: What advanced therapies do patients seek abroad due to restrictions from agencies like the FDA or the EMA?

Dr. Khan: The main reason for travel is access to therapies with stem cells, which are not allowed or are heavily restricted in most of Western Europe and North America. Therefore, we operate in partnership with a partner clinic in Istanbul (Turkey), strategically located between Europe and Asia, where we treat many European patients, in addition to those who travel directly to our headquarters in Dubai.

The landscape is changing very slowly. Eastern countries like Lithuania and Romania, or places like Bulgaria, are beginning to relax their regulations, and it is rumored that Monaco will adopt them soon. However, regulation remains the main bottleneck on the continent.

Q: If you had to choose a new destination in Europe to expand the Eterna Health model, what would be your first choice and why?

Dr. Khan: We have analyzed it in detail and our main objective would be San Marino. It is an independent republic embedded in northern Italy. Being a sovereign microstate with its own regulatory framework, it would allow us to establish a multi-level clinic and offer advanced cell therapies that are currently blocked by the EMA in the rest of Europe, while being geographically very close to major European hubs.

Q: On a more human level, what specific aspect of biological aging concerns your patients the most, and what is your fundamental advice to prevent it?

Dr. Khan: Beyond cellular metrics, the fundamental pillar that people often neglect and that most accelerates aging is sleep. There is already a vast amount of scientific literature on this, but the real challenge is to monitor sleep quality on an individual basis. Technological tools like the Oura Ring, the Gabby ring, or Whoop devices. are essential today.

Tracking your sleep architecture and ensuring deep sleep phases is the indispensable requirement for any other biological therapy to work The second aspect, and perhaps the most forgotten, is. mental peace. Living in a state of constant stress and worry depletes biological resources extraordinarily quickly.

As doctors, we deal with patient stress daily, but the best longevity advice is to develop a resilient mindset, focusing only on what you can control and letting go of what you cannot

Q: There is a fine line between health and vanity. To what extent do mental well-being and aesthetics directly influence biological health? Can aesthetic obsession prematurely age us? Q: There is a fine line between health and vanity. To what extent do mental well-being and aesthetics directly influence biological health? Can aesthetic obsession prematurely age us?. Absolutely. You hit the nail on the head There is a worrying concentration of people obsessed with looking. young on the outside, despite being deeply deteriorated on the inside.

When external appearance becomes an obsession, it turns into a source of anxiety and mental illness wellness The correct approach of consists of building a. healthy relationship with your own body and with nutrition. It is not about how you look in the mirror, but about cultivating the genuine desire to nourish your organism. We must treat our body like a temple or like an absolute luxury car.

Ironically, many people take better care of their cars than their own bodies «Furthermore, there is the dangerous thought of:». "It doesn't matter if I destroy my health today, because tomorrow a doctor like Dr. Khan will regenerate my cells". It is a serious mistake. Repairing what has already been destroyed is extremely difficult.

True longevity is preventive, conscious, and starts from within.
