This week the city of Malaga will become the national epicentre of aesthetic and dermatological medicine with the celebration of the 32nd Congress of the Spanish Society of Surgical Medical Lasers (SELMQ). The event takes place at the Hotel Barceló Málagawith an expected attendance of hundreds of healthcare professionals, aesthetic physicians, dermatologists, plastic surgeons and medical technology experts.
During three intense days, the congress brings together the most authoritative voices in the use of lasers and other light sources applied to health and aesthetics, consolidating itself as the forum of scientific reference in the field of medical-surgical lasers in Spain and Latin America.
The congress starts on Thursday 29 May with pre-congress courses aimed at both specialists and trainees. One of the highlights of the programme will be the keynote address on Friday 30, by the Prof. Dr. Eduardo de TeresaProfessor of Cardiology at the University of Malaga, entitled "Artificial Intelligence in Medicine: where are we and where are we going?. A necessary reflection on the emerging role of AI in modern clinical practice.
The scientific programme is structured as follows nine round tablesThese include the treatment of pigmented lesions, vascular lesions and scars, facial and body rejuvenation, aesthetic remodelling, high-power laser treatments, new technologies in photoepilation and strategies for the management of complications.
Each session will be moderated by industry leaders such as Virginia Benítez, Pablo Naranjo, Rafael Serena, Diego del Ojo or Mario Trellesamong others, providing a practical vision with the exhibition of real clinical cases, outcomes, combined protocols and new emerging technologies such as HIFEM®, fractionated radiofrequency, microfocused ultrasound, photobiomodulatory therapy, laser endolift or the use of exosomes.
