IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon World Championships for the first time in Spain

Marbella will host the next edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon World Championships in 2025following in the footsteps of other destinations such as Lahti, Finland (in 2023) and Taupo, New Zealand (in December 2024). The Spanish city will be the fourth European city and the first Spanish city to host this world event, with Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria, in 2015; Nice, France, in 2019; Lahti, Finland, in 2023 and Taupo, New Zealand in 2024.

The race will continue with the two-day format, adopted for the first time in 2017, where professional women and women of the same age group will make their debut. on Saturday 8 November, and men on Sunday 9 November.. It is expected that 7000 athletes will participate in the race over the two days, and each athlete will attend with, on average, 2.5 companions. The estimated economic impact of this event for the region is estimated at 60 million euros, while the media impact expected from the last IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships will reach 12.5 million euros, consolidating Marbella as a key destination for sports tourism worldwide.

This Spanish resort receives a large number of tourists all year round and is known to be a favourable destination for sporting events thanks to its possibilities, the warm climate and the wide variety of activities on offer.
